Everyone loves a Ploughman’s! This is the perfect selection of creamy Colston Bassett Stilton, Pitchfork Cheddar and Swaledale Traditional, crumbly and fresh. A Ploughman’s is of course not complete without a tangy piccalilli, a staple that’s been included on a classic Ploughman’s for decades. This delivery comes with Welbeck Bakehouse Fourseed Sourdough crackers and a Modens Lincolnshire PLumbread

A good Ploughman’s is hard to beat and so easy to create at home. The specific term “Ploughman’s lunch” is believed to date from the 1950s, when the Cheese Bureau, a marketing body, began promoting it in pubs as a way to increase the sales of cheese, which had recently ceased to be rationed.

The Cheese Society’s Perfect Ploughman’s – This delivery arrives with the staple items so we suggest the addition of a warm baguette, hard-boiled eggs, real ale, pork pie, sliced cold apple and some thick cuts of ham and you’ve got a delicious Ploughman’s lunch.

All of our cheeses are sent out cut, wrapped and packed freshly by hand in a beautifully presented gift box. No costs will be visible on gift delivery paperwork. Regarded as one of the best traditionally made naturally crusted Stiltons in the country, this cheese is mature, with good blueing and rich, deep, herbaceous flavours that linger on the palate. Pitchfork Cheddar
Weight: approx 200g.
From the makers of Gorwydd Caerphilly, comes Pitchfork, whose name is a reference to the old farming tools used to toss the curd while mixing in the salt. A practice the Trethowans' have since resurrected, imbuing their new-old cheddar with romance and history. Full-bodied, nutty, and sweet with a creamy texture that lingers on the palate. Swaledale Traditional
Weight: approx 200g.
Swaledale Traditional is based on an ancient recipe developed hundreds of years ago and has similar characteristics to a farmhouse Wensleydale, a brilliant alternative, but with softer and creamier notes and a more delicate less astringent flavours. Fourseed Sourdough Crackers
