Each loaf is hand-baked by Modens Bakery in Spilsby, on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The recipe was developed in 1936 and has changed very little since. This is a deliciously fruity bread. Serve buttered on its own or with tasty cheeses such as Lincolnshire Poacher and Cote Hill Blue or toast and serve warm with butter and jam. If you have any leftover, it makes a fantastic bread & butter pudding – really spicy and fruity!
