Spenwood is made by Village Maid Cheese in Berkshire which was started by Anne Wigmore in 1986 after learning the craft of cheese making at the National Institute for Research in Dairying in Shinfield. Inspired by a trip to Sardinia and Pecorino Sardo, Spenwood is a raw milk, vegetarian cheese made with local ewes milk. Spenwood is the culmination of many trials and changes made over many years. Changes are still continuing to be made to maintain and to produce the best quality and flavoursome cheese possible.
Winner of the Super Gold Award at the World Cheese Awards in 2018-2019. Spenwood is a cheese to be savoured and enjoyed!
Please note all cheeses are hand cut, therefore the weights listed are approximate. We work very hard to cut them as accurately as we can!
